To produce Kürtős Kalács / Sweet Wrappsss you will need a special chimney cake oven or Kurtos Kalacs oven.

We supply high quality chimney cake ovens which are designed and manufactured to bake the Kurtos Kalacs to perfection. Our Chimney cake ovens are hand made and built to a very high standard and are NSF Aproved.

A comprehensive instruction manual is supplied with all our chimney cake ovens as well as a 1 year ‘back to base’ warranty.

To meet different electrical voltage, we can supply all our ovens in two types of voltages: 230V 50Hz; 110V 60Hz. We are fitting UK plugs, EU plugs or American style plugs to the oven

NOTE (US & Canada): The plug fitted to the Electric oven 8 and Electric oven 8 ECO is called NEMA L5-30 twist lock plug. This plug is for heavy duty equipment. The Electric oven 4 and Gas oven 8 send to the US or Canada is fitted with a NEMA 5-15 plug which can be plugged directly into a standard plug socket.

All our Kurtos Kalacs ovens and associated Chimney cake oven accessories are hand made and so we advise all customers of a two week lead time before we ship the finished goods.

All electric ovens are NSF certified. During our NSF inspection we were told that wood was not allowed to be in contact with food. Therefore we designed a new stainless steal roll as an alternative to the wooden roll. The stainless steal roll is NSF International certified (wooden rolls are not NSF certified)

For those of you who have never heard of Kürtős Kalács / Sweet Wrappsss it is a delicious pastry made entirely from natural ingredients. The uncooked pastry is wrapped like a ribbon around a wooden cylinder or roller and then baked in a purpose made Kürtős Kalács oven (Chimney Cake oven).

Once cooked, the hot, sticky pastry is rolled in a topping such as sugar and cinnamon, walnut, chocolate or coconut. A savoury version can also be made with toppings such as garlic and herbs, or ham and cheese. There are simplyendless possibilities.

Kürtős Kalács is often referred to as a ‘Chimney Cake’as the final shape resembles chimney and when removed from the oven steam rises from the funnel of the cake just like a chimney!

About Our Gas Ovens

The gas chimney cake / Sweet Wrappsss oven needs an electric power source to power the motor which turns the rolls and for the cooling fan. This can be achieved through a normal electric socket (230V single phase AC) or by way of a 12 volt DC to 230V AC inverter and plugging into a car battery (cigarette lighter in the car) or a battery pack.

The gas Chimney cake oven is supplied with a gas regulator. This regulator may need to be changed in some countries depending on the gas bottle connection. Ask your gas supplier for the correct regulator. They gas used to power the chimney cake oven is LPG bottled gas, not natural gas.
